Rhino: The Endgame

Featuring Dr Jane Goodall, Rhino: The Endgame is a short film produced by Saving the Wild.

Sam was brought on board by Jamie Joesph of Saving the Wild after hearing about his ongoing work with Harry Skeggs and Nikon. Brought on board as Cinematographer and Editor, it was also my role to bring Jamie Joesph’s vision to life, as her role in the film is both on-screen and behind the lens producing and directing the film.

It’s also worth noting that great measures were taken to ensure Sam, the team and the wildlife were kept safe and stress free. It’s always imperative to Sam that any wildlife being filmed is unencumbered by his presence or that of a camera. It’s always our goal to film nature as it is intended. Some sequences were shot of habituated animals and those in enclosures for their own safety and security.

Why does it matter?

Rhino: The Endgame serves as a warning to the South African Government to introduce meaningful legislation that effectively deters wildlife crime.

Rhino: The Endgame had it’s global premiere at a leadership event by the Economist in Cape Town. It will now travel internationally with Saving the Wild to rally the call for the end of the Rhino crisis.
